Applied advanced quantitative methods and geospatial analysis across multidisciplinary projects in successful pursuit of Master of Public Administration (MPA) in Environmental Policy. Served as a Fellow with the Center for Environmental Politics and was a funded cohort member of the EarthLab’s Future Rivers Program, a National Science Foundation Research Traineeship. Graduated magna cum laude from the University of Memphis in 2012, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications with a focus on journalism.

Managed integrated communications strategies for public sector and nonprofit clients in energy efficiency and racial justice. Developed plans, wrote technical copy, and coordinated creative component with social marketing team to encourage sustainable behavior change. To avoid conflict of interests, freelance writing assignments did not cover energy efficiency-related topics or other client-related topics during this time.
Media Manager & PIO Washington State Department of Natural Resources | 2018 -2019
Collected and disseminated emergency information through state’s digital channels and external earned media channels during wildfire season; served as staff videographer and producer. Prepared a multitude of official memos and scripts on climate change, landslides, and other natural resources issues. Coordinated with policy writers and department scientists in support of the Commissioner of Public Lands. Took a year off from journalism to avoid conflicts of interests.

Wrote and produced Emmy-award winning breaking news coverage in Western Washington (KIRO) and the Mid-South (WMC) for websites, social media platforms, and on-air scripts. Researched and reported on environmental and human-interest stories that gained national traction.
